Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: 
WBDC, WAXL, WRZR hosted a student from Forest Park High School as an intern in the “Credits For Career Class”  The student came to the studios of WBDC and WAXL from 12:30 to 1:50 each school day.  She was taught many different aspects of the radio broadcast industry as taught by those listed above.  She recorded news stories and newscasts.  She recorded and produced commercials for WBDC, WAXL, and WRZR.  The student performed general office duties including radio specific duties of writing and typing commercial scripts.  She recorded weather forecasts on a daily basis and was taught weather basics.

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: 

            DCBroadcasting Companies (including WBDC FM, WAXL FM, WRZR FM, WJTS-TV) President, Paul E. Knies and VP/GM William C. Potter attended the IBA Job Fair Saturday October 25, 2007 in Indianapolis, Indiana.  Mr. Knies and Mr. Potter have the say in the hiring of all employees of DCBroadcasting, Inc.  In addition to having a booth at the job fair, many applications were accepted and are held on file.  WORX and WXGO each aired sixty-second announcements on each station promoting the job fair and encouraging participation by job seekers and those interested in broadcast careers.

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: 

“Enterprise In Action Day”.  Jasper High School students spent a full day on instruction and working sessions with the various department at WJTS-TV.  The seniors from Jasper High School were given hands on experience on what it takes to get a TV project developed, written, produced, edited, and on the air.  There were 12 Jasper students who participated in “Enterprise In Action Day” at WJTS-TV.

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: 

WBDC FM, WAXL FM, WRZR FM, WJTS-TV aired a total of 120 on each station, Public Service Announcements offering information about the Indiana Broadcasters Association Scholarship Program.  The PSA’s encouraged high school and college students to apply for the scholarships.  Scholarships were made available to the public at the WBDC FM, WAXL FM, WRZR FM, WJTS-TV studios.  WBDC, WAXL, and WRZR also made a financial contribution the Indiana Broadcasters Foundation for the scholarship program.  DCBi President Paul Knies, was a member of the scholarship selection committee.

DCBi President Paul Knies and VP/GM Bill Potter participated in the WorkOne Business Seminar entitled “Bridging The Generation Gap” with instruction from a Workforce Development liaison.  Topics discussed in training involved hiring older members of the community and how to train them. 

DCBi President Paul Knies and VP/GM Bill Potter participated in the WorkOne Business Seminar entitled “The Impact Of Poverty On The Bottom Line” with instruction from Workforce Development.  Topics discussed in training involved recognizing and training employees who come from poverty and helping them to break the habits created by cycle of poverty.

Brief Description Of Activity And Station Participation: 
WBDC, WAXL, WRZR hosted a student from Southridge High School as a job shadow for the day of April 13, 2007 from 8:30am to 12:30pm the Southridge High School “Job Shadow” program designed to get students working in a career field.  The student was a sophomore at SHS.  She came to the studios of WBDC and WAXL.   She spent the day with Program Director, Pat Oxley and was taught many different aspects of the radio broadcast industry pertaining to on-air and production.  She recorded weather, edited and produced her work and dubbed into automation system.  She also interviews Pat Oxley about radio and career opportunities and requirements.
